Foreign currency app for investment and research. My client app determined the research behaviors of successful forex investors and integrated with services of the other three engineers on our team to deliver aggregate real-time data to Kibana. Video presentation.

• Designed schema and data generation scripts for PostgreSQL which efficiently handled 10m+ rows.
• Implemented Amazon SQS for a decoupled, fault-tolerant pipeline.
• Maximized throughput to message bus with batching and multiple workers, streaming 50k mps without bottlenecks.
• Deployed services to AWS (including RDS) for on-demand horizontal scaling to accommodate traffic spikes.

App enabling users to find menu items for $10 and under, plus time-specific flash deals provided by restaurant owners, based on location and cuisine. I served as Backend Engineer on a four-person team.

• Developed PostgreSQL database schemas for robust relations and ACID-compliant storage.
• Optimized queries to database cache for rapid round-trip of customer-facing data via Node/Express.
• Worked remotely with team using Agile methodology, peer code reviews, Git work flow, Trello boards and TDD.

Browser-based app which displays the Near Earth Objects orbiting our planet on the current day.

• Utilized jQuery/Ajax to efficiently connect to NASA Near Earth Objects API.
• Built dynamic star field with Sass to simulate motion through space while maintaining user focus on the NEOs.

Future development: Create D3-based UI  illustrating relative absolute magnitude of NEOs.
